This Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy Compact 3.5 AOS is a 9mm double-stack, compact-length pistol built on a hard-coat anodized 7075-T6 aluminum frame with a detachable textured polymer grip module. It features a forged carbon-steel slide with black Cerakote, a DLC-coated forged stainless steel bull barrel, and Springfield's Agency Optic System (AOS) optic-cut slide with a plate-integrated rear sight. This example is further upgraded with a full suite of EGW components for its ignition system and controls.

The Compact 3.5-inch configuration delivers a 15+1 capacity in a shortened grip module, paired with a left-side magazine release and ambidextrous thumb safeties. A fitted beavertail grip safety and a curved three-hole trigger complete the 2011-style control layout.
Construction is premium throughout: a forged carbon-steel slide finished in black Cerakote rides over a DLC-coated, forged stainless steel bull barrel. The hard-coat anodized 7075-T6 aluminum frame mates to a detachable textured polymer double-stack grip module with a slight flared magwell lip for smooth reloads. An integral Picatinny accessory rail on the dustcover supports weapon-mounted lights.
Springfield's Agency Optic System (AOS) equips the slide with an optic cut and a cover plate that carries the rear sight, preserving a consistent sight picture. Sighting components include a front white-dot post and a drift-adjustable rear ledge sight. Front and rear diagonal cocking serrations provide positive slide manipulation.
This pistol is custom-outfitted with EGW parts: an EGW ignition kit anchored by a solid 1911 hammer, a shortened hard sear, a lightened leaf sear spring, and a 19 lb mainspring. It also includes a 3.5-inch guide rod kit, and the beavertail grip safety has been fitted to work with the new EGW solid hammer. All listed components are EGW parts.
