Ruger Security-Six .357 Magnum 4" Stainless DA/SA Revolver, Adjustable Sights, Pachmayr Grips
This stainless Ruger Security-Six is a 4-inch, adjustable-sight .357 Magnum from the Six Series with a clean, excellent bore and very good overall condition. It features the one-piece, sideplate-less investment-cast frame Ruger is known for and comes fitted with aftermarket Pachmayr rubber wraparound grips. The serial prefix 158 aligns with Ruger’s early-1980s shipping range.
The Security-Six is the adjustable-sight variant within the Six Series, setting it apart from the Service-Six and Speed-Six. This example is built in brushed stainless steel with a six-shot fluted cylinder and a 4" barrel. Its DA/SA action uses a transfer bar safety system.
Sighting is handled by a ramped, pinned front sight with an orange insert and an adjustable black rear blade. Anti-glare serrations are present, and the barrel includes a short ejector-rod shroud. The trigger is smooth, and the exposed hammer has a checkered spur for confident control.
The revolver retains Ruger’s durable, sideplate-less frame design with a left-side push-button latch, swing-out crane, and six-round capacity. The Six Series saw wide law-enforcement use in the 1970s–1980s, and the 158 serial prefix places this gun within the early-1980s Ruger shipping range.
This Security-Six wears Pachmayr rubber wraparound grips with checkered panels (installed), providing a secure hold while preserving the revolver’s stainless construction and adjustable-sight configuration.
