The Tactical 3.0 is built on a modular 2011 double-stack frame system with a steel frame and a textured polymer 2011 grip featuring STI medallions. It includes molded frontstrap and backstrap checkering, a flared magwell, and a beavertail grip safety with memory pad, paired with a manual thumb safety.
The slide and barrel setup centers on an approximately 3.7 in bull barrel. The slide is configured with front and rear cocking serrations and a lowered ejection port. Operation is single-action, semi-automatic, with a skeletonized curved trigger and a skeletonized rowel hammer.
Sight configuration consists of tritium night sights, combining a Trijicon front night sight with a Heinie fixed rear sight for a clear, low-light-capable sight picture.
An integral accessory/light rail with one cross slot is machined into the frame, and the compact size is matched to a 17+1 capacity in 9mm Luger. The frame is marked STI International, Georgetown, TX, USA.
