The Model 7600 uses a pump-action system with a rotating bolt that locks into a barrel extension, providing secure lockup. It is chambered in .30-06 Springfield and feeds from a detachable steel box magazine marked "30-06," with a 4+1 capacity. The factory barrel is 22 inches, with typical overall length about 42 5/8 inches and weight around 7.5 pounds.
Factory engraving highlights include fine-line engraved panels on the blued receiver, depicting a deer scene on the right side and bears on the left. The receiver finish contrasts with the engraving to showcase the artwork, and the buttplate features a shield-style Remington Arms monogram with intertwined "RA."
Iron sights consist of a ramped front blade and an adjustable, barrel-mounted open rear sight. Two-piece scope bases are already installed on the receiver for those who prefer to add an optic.
The walnut stock and pump fore-end feature cut checkering and a gloss finish, with a checkered pistol grip for a secure hold. Sling studs are fitted at the front barrel band and at the rear on the buttstock for carry options. Barrel rollmarks include "REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC., ILION, N.Y. U.S.A." and "30-06 SPRG."
