The FNX-45 Tactical pairs a full-size polymer frame in FDE with a stainless-steel slide finished to match. Manufactured by FN America in Columbia, SC, it offers a 5.25 in cold hammer-forged stainless barrel that is extended and threaded 0.578x28 with a 1:16 RH twist, giving this .45 ACP a purpose-built configuration for tactical use.
The slide is optics-cut with a cover plate installed, and the pistol comes with factory optic adapter plates for miniature red dot sights. Trijicon suppressor-height 3-dot night sights and a 6.4 in sight radius provide a clear, high sight picture. Front and rear cocking serrations and an external extractor complete the slide setup.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety/decocker, slide stop, and magazine release. The DA/SA, hammer-fired action gives users familiar operating options. A MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail on the dustcover supports common illumination or laser accessories.
The frame uses interchangeable backstraps and FN-marked polymer grips to fit different hand sizes. Capacity is 15+1 rounds of .45 ACP, and two 15-round steel magazines with polymer baseplates are included.
