The M&P15-22P is a semi-automatic blowback .22 LR pistol with a 25+1 capacity and detachable box magazines. It retains familiar AR-style ergonomics including a right-side magazine release, an ambidextrous two-position safety selector, and an AR-pattern T-handle charging handle.
The 6 inch carbon steel barrel is threaded and fitted from the factory with a birdcage flash hider. Its 1:15 twist and excellent rifling provide sharp lands and grooves appropriate for .22 LR performance.
Construction centers on polymer upper and lower receivers with a matte black finish and a polymer quad-rail handguard. A continuous top 1913 rail runs across the receiver and handguard, and the pistol comes with adjustable A2-style iron sights (front post and rear aperture).
Practical handling features include a rear receiver end cap with a single-point sling mount, with a push-button QD swivel already installed. The pistol is made in the United States and is identified by S&W part number 813000.
