This Aero Precision M5 is a large-frame AR chambered in .308 Winchester with a 16-inch barrel and a free-float M-LOK handguard. The M5 is Aero Precision’s large-frame AR in .308 Winchester, built around a 16-inch barrel with a threaded muzzle and A2-style birdcage flash hider. It uses a direct impingement system and is made in the United States. The receivers are aluminum with a hardcoat anodized finish.
The upper includes a case deflector, ejection port cover, and a T-marked, full-length Picatinny top rail. The Aero free-float M-LOK handguard extends that top rail and features a patterned two-tone finish on the rear portion, providing a distinctive appearance while keeping weight forward of the receiver.
Controls and furniture are well-appointed: the rifle is equipped with the Aero Precision BREACH ambidextrous charging handle and Magpul MOE SL adjustable carbine stock, MOE-K2+ pistol grip, and a vertical grip. Installed M-LOK rail covers and a QD sling socket add immediate practicality. It accepts SR-25/DPMS-pattern magazines and ships with both a 20-round and a 10-round magazine for a 20+1 capacity.
