The M&P15-22 SPORT is built as a rimfire from the ground up, giving it AR-15 style controls and handling with a blowback-operated .22 LR system. Its true last-round hold-open adds functional familiarity for training or range work. The receiver is marked "Smith & Wesson, Springfield, MA, Made in U.S.A."
The 16.5 inch steel barrel is threaded and fitted with an A2-style flash hider. Paired with the rifle’s excellent bore and sharp rifling, it provides clean, reliable performance with .22 LR ammunition.
A full-length Picatinny top rail runs from the receiver across the handguard, supporting the included polymer flip-up front and rear sights. The slim polymer handguard is M-LOK compatible and displays the molded M-LOK logo, allowing direct attachment of M-LOK accessories.
The polymer upper and lower receivers keep the configuration consistent with AR geometry. It includes a 6-position, carbine-style adjustable stock with an 11.75 inch length of pull and an AR-style polymer pistol grip.
