The Model 22A-1 uses a semi-automatic blowback action and comes configured as a full-size rimfire with a 5.5 in barrel. Its steel barrel and aluminum alloy frame balance durability with a light, controllable feel, and the two-tone black/gray finish gives it a clean, purposeful look.
Sight configuration is straightforward and practical: a plain blade front sight pairs with a fully adjustable rear sight protected by side wings. An integral, full-length Weaver-style top rail is machined into the upper assembly for secure mounting on the pistol.
Controls and ergonomics include a manual thumb safety and the 22A-family front-of-frame takedown button for simple fieldstripping. The black one-piece textured grips with S&W medallions provide a solid hold. Capacity is 10+1 rounds.
This pistol was manufactured in Houlton, Maine, and is identified by S&W mfg part number 107441. The 22A series was later discontinued and succeeded by the SW22 Victory, placing this 22A-1 within a defined chapter of S&W's modern rimfire lineup.
