Made by HS Produkt in Croatia and marked "SPRINGFIELD INC., GENESEO, IL — MADE IN CROATIA," this XD-9 Sub-Compact reflects the original import configuration. The factory bi-tone setup pairs a stainless slide with a durable black polymer frame, and a captive recoil-spring assembly supports the 3-inch barrel for compact carry and smooth cycling.
The striker-fired action includes an ambidextrous magazine release and layered safety features: a grip safety, trigger safety with safety tab, a loaded chamber indicator, and a striker status indicator. Front and rear slide serrations aid manipulation, and both the loaded-chamber and striker indicators provide quick status checks.
Sight alignment is straightforward with dovetailed 3-dot iron sights: a white-dot front and a two-dot rear. The textured polymer grip with SA-XD molded panels offers secure purchase in a compact profile.
Magazine options are flexible. This pistol accepts longer full-size XD 9mm magazines with a grip sleeve, and it arrives with two factory stainless-steel magazines: a compact 10-round and an extended 16-round, supporting a listed capacity of 16+1. The XD Sub-Compact line was recognized as American Rifleman Pistol of the Year in 2003, underscoring its strong reputation.
