The P226 Elite is a full-size, double-stack 9mm built on a metal frame with a DA/SA action and a decocking lever. This configuration uses a curved trigger and a spurred hammer, giving it the traditional P226 control layout that many shooters prefer.
As an early Elite configuration, it features an extended beavertail frame and frontstrap checkering for secure control. The slide adds forward and rear serrations, and both slide and frame wear a matte black finish that complements the checkered wood grip panels.
Sighting is handled by dovetailed fixed sights front and rear. The 4.4-inch barrel, combined with the full-size frame and a 15+1 capacity, delivers the well-known P226 shooting characteristics. An integral 3-slot accessory rail on the dust cover supports mounted accessories when desired.
Markings reflect its transitional era: SIGARMS Inc. Exeter NH, frame made in Germany, and a circular proof/inspection mark. The factory case label lists the mfg part number E26R-9-BSE and a date of 29-Oct-2007, tying this pistol to the first generation of Elite-series production. Two SIG SAUER-marked steel magazines are included.
