The Model 94 Ranger is a top-eject, .30-30 carbine built with a 20 inch round blued barrel secured by two barrel bands and fed by a full-length tubular magazine with a 6-round stated capacity. The barrel rollmark reads: "WINCHESTER RANGER 30-30 WIN — MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. — WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL."
Furniture consists of a straight-grip, uncheckered hardwood stock and matching carbine forearm, both finished glossy. It wears a black checkered hard-plastic buttplate bearing the Winchester logo. The carbine uses a standard small-loop lever and has a 13.5 inch length of pull.
Factory iron sights include a hoodless ramped front post and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear leaf with step elevator. The installed left-side receiver mount positions the 1-inch rings to clear the ejection port, and it carries a Tasco World Class 3-9x scope with an SFP duplex reticle.
Construction details include a blued receiver and a steel barrel. This configuration retains the Model 94’s traditional top ejection while adding a side-mounted optic solution for practical field use.
