The rifle is configured on the AR-15 platform with a 16 inch threaded barrel and an aftermarket open-ended multi-port muzzle device. It uses a semi-automatic, direct-impingement action and is chambered in 5.56mm NATO.
A UTG PRO MTU015SS extended carbine drop-in handguard with FSP cutout is installed, providing added accessory space while retaining the fixed A2 front sight base. The receiver has a T-marked Picatinny top rail, while the handguard uses bolt-on Picatinny rail sections and is interrupted by the A2 front sight base, so it is not a single continuous run with the receiver.
Sighting is straightforward and durable with a fixed A2 front sight base/gas block paired to a polymer flip-up rear aperture sight. The upper receiver is the slick-side style without a forward assist, and it has an ejection-port cover.
Furniture includes a 6-position, M4-style collapsible stock with an approximate length of pull from 10 to 13.5 inches, and a non-A2 pistol grip featuring a beavertail and granular wrap texture. A black two-point sling is installed, and the rifle retains a manual safety.
It accepts detachable AR-15 pattern magazines and has a 30+1 capacity. The rifle wears a black finish, is made in the United States, and displays a large M&P 15 logo on the left magwell.
