The Tavor 7 is a 7.62mm NATO bullpup with a compact 26.75 in overall length and an unloaded weight of approximately 9 lb. Its short-stroke gas piston system uses a 4-position regulator, including an OFF setting, providing versatile tuning for various conditions.
The 16.5 in steel barrel is cold hammer forged, chrome lined, and threaded 5/8x24. A multi-port muzzle brake is installed. The barrel uses a 1:12 RH twist, and the bore condition is excellent with sharp rifling.
Controls are designed for flexibility, with ambidextrous safety and paddle-style magazine release, a folding reversible charging handle, and reversible ejection. The rifle accepts SR-25 pattern magazines and has a 25+1 capacity.
The black polymer receiver/frame integrates a full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny top rail with T-marks and additional Picatinny rail segments at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. QD sling sockets are provided on both sides. Factory markings include receiver moldings: "TAVOR SAR 7.62 NATO" over "IWI US – MIDDLETOWN, PA"; the barrel is roll-marked "MADE IN ISRAEL" and additionally marked "7.62 NATO 1:12 CHF/CL" with a "P" proof stamp.
