The Model 7400 uses a semi-automatic, gas-operated system with a four-lug rotating bolt lockup. Chambered in .308 Win, it feeds from a detachable box magazine and offers a 4+1 capacity. The charging handle and ejection are on the right side.
The 22-inch barrel is paired with practical iron sights: a ramped front (no hood) and an adjustable rear open sight. The bore condition is excellent with sharp rifling, supporting clean internal geometry.
Classic Remington styling comes through in the walnut stock and matching fore-end. The stock has a straight comb, pistol-grip profile, and cut checkering, along with sling-swivel studs and a hard buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches.
The receiver is aluminum alloy with a black anodized finish, while the barrel, front sight ramp, and fore-end cap are bright silver/in-the-white (not blued). The receiver top is drilled and tapped, and a one-piece Weaver-style scope base is installed. A Remington "REP" oval proof mark is present, indicating factory proofing.
