An add-on flared magazine well funnel is installed, and the pistol includes three 10-round magazines. Notably, the slide and barrel serial numbers do not match the frame.

The VP9L-B pairs HK's striker-fired VP platform with a 5-inch long slide and lightening windows to reduce reciprocating mass. Front and rear slide serrations provide positive manipulation, and the full-size frame delivers a stable, controllable grip.
This "B" variant uses a push-button magazine release and includes an ambidextrous slide stop/release. The fiber-reinforced polymer frame features VP-series textured panels with "VP" molded in, and a 4-slot Picatinny-style accessory rail supports common weapon-mounted lights or lasers.
Sighting is set up for precision with a red fiber-optic front blade and a target-style black rear sight adjustable for windage and elevation. The striker-fired action incorporates a trigger safety with a safety tab.
Proofed and built in Germany, the pistol bears CIP "N" and Ulm stag antler proofs, along with a "BK" date code and the "DE" CIP country code. It is U.S. import marked "HKI–Columbus GA." The slide and barrel serial numbers do not match the frame.
An add-on flared magazine well funnel is installed to aid reloads. Capacity is 10+1 rounds, and three 10-round steel magazines are included.
