The M&P 22 Magnum is a recent release configured for .22 WMR with a 4.35 inch stainless steel barrel that is non-threaded and finished in Armornite (factory spec; S&W case labels often round this to “4.5”). The shrouded barrel is part of Smith & Wesson’s Tempo gas-assisted, locked-breech system paired with an internal, single-action hammer.
The stainless steel slide wears a black Armornite finish and features rear serrations plus an optics cut with a cover plate. The slide is optics-ready for direct mounting of RMSc-footprint micro red dots, enabling a low, direct mount when paired with compatible optics.
The polymer frame is finished in black and includes M2.0-style textured grips with the S&W medallion and an integral accessory rail. Sights are a green fiber-optic front and a black rear notch.
Controls are user-friendly and ambidextrous where it matters: an ambidextrous manual thumb safety, ambidextrous slide stops, and a reversible left-side push-button magazine release. The flat-faced trigger incorporates a safety tab. Field-stripping utilizes a takedown pin/punch as designed for this model.
