Marlin Glenfield Model 60 .22 LR Semi-Auto Rifle, 22 Inch Micro-Groove Barrel, 19+1, Birch Stock, Blued Finish, Rimfire Scope
This Glenfield Model 60 by Marlin Firearms Co. is a 1970-era .22 LR semi-automatic rifle featuring the early long-barrel and long-tube configuration. It pairs a 22-inch carbon steel barrel with Micro-Groove rifling and a full-length tubular magazine. Classic birch hardwood furniture with the Glenfield squirrel-in-shield wrist motif and a mounted rimfire scope add to its appeal for plinking and small game use.

The rifle uses Marlin’s early long-barrel/long-tube layout: a 22-inch barrel and a full-length tubular magazine that runs to the muzzle with a knurled inner-tube cap. The barrel rollmark specifies ".22 L.R. ONLY," and the overall length is approximately 40.5 inches.
Its semi-automatic, straight blowback action runs from a closed bolt, with a right-side charging handle. This pre-1985 configuration uses a manual bolt hold-open by pressing the charging handle and does not provide automatic last-shot hold-open. A cross-bolt safety offers straightforward operation.
The barrel is carbon steel with Marlin Micro-Groove rifling, known for its many shallow grooves that provide consistent guidance for .22 LR bullets. The receiver is aluminum alloy with a painted/anodized finish and features integral 3/8-inch rimfire tip-off grooves.
Open sights are included: a ramp front sight and an elevator-adjustable rear leaf. The rifle also wears a slim, rimfire-rated scope mounted on the factory grooves, giving an immediate sighting option alongside the irons.
The birch hardwood stock features pressed checkering, the Glenfield squirrel-in-shield wrist motif, and a black buttplate. Length of pull is 13.5 inches. The blued finish and United States manufacture reflect the classic Glenfield/Marlin presentation from this era.
