The Renegade configuration centers on a 26-inch octagonal steel barrel retained by a single wedge key with an oval escutcheon. An under-rib with two ramrod pipes supports traditional loading, and the barrel is roll-marked with black powder-only guidance and Thompson/Center model markings.
Lockwork is classic percussion sidelock with a right-hand hammer. The lockplate is color case-hardened and features light scroll engraving, adding period-correct detail to the rifle’s working components.
Controls and sights are set up for practical muzzleloader use: double-set triggers for a refined trigger break, a dovetailed front blade, and an adjustable rear iron sight. The length of pull measures 13.75 inches.
The hardwood half-stock has a straight comb and a shotgun-style black composite (hard rubber) buttplate, paired with an S-curved steel trigger guard that follows the Renegade’s traditional lines. Overall, the build reflects Thompson/Center’s Rochester, New Hampshire production standards.
Barrel roll marks include: "BLACK POWDER ONLY – INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE READ BEFORE USE" and "THOMPSON | CENTER ARMS, ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE .50 CAL. RENEGADE", confirming model, caliber, and intended propellant.
