Condition
Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: The receiver is missing a screw. The stock medallion coin is missing. The stock is not installed correctly, which prevents the lever from fully seating to engage the trigger; as a result, excessive pressure on the trigger disconnect is required to fire. The firearm is capable of firing but requires gunsmithing for proper function.
What’s Included
- Winchester Model 94 Cherokee Carbine Commemorative .30-30 lever-action rifle with 20 inch barrel
Issued in 1978 as a factory commemorative, this Model 94 represents a limited production run of about 9,000 units. It follows the commemorative CK-prefix serial format and carries Winchester markings including "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL" and "MADE IN NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A."
The receiver and trim are gold-tone plated with factory engraving. The right and left flats feature bordered scenes including "TRAIL OF TEARS 1839," while the barrel bears a gold-filled "CHEROKEE CARBINE" inscription. The 20-inch round barrel and magazine tube are blued, maintaining the traditional carbine profile.
Stocked in walnut, the rifle uses a straight-grip, uncheckered buttstock with a carbine butt, and it was designed with a stock medallion inlay. A walnut carbine forend with two bands completes the classic Model 94 carbine layout.
Chambered in .30-30, the carbine uses a full-length tubular magazine with a 6+1 capacity and a standard (non-large) loop lever. It is a top-eject design with a right-side loading gate. Sights are iron: a ramped front blade and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear with elevator.
