The New Vaquero pairs classic single-action operation with Ruger’s transfer-bar safety and a reverse-indexing pawl for precise cylinder alignment during loading and unloading. The XR-3-style mid-size grip frame, patterned after the Colt SAA, is matched with smooth ivory-colored grip panels bearing Ruger medallions.
The 4.5 in cold hammer-forged alloy steel barrel uses 8-groove rifling with a 1:16 right-hand twist. It is chambered in .357 Magnum and also accepts .38 Special ammunition. Fixed sights consist of a blade front and an integral rear notch for a clean, traditional sight picture.
The six-shot fluted cylinder features beveled edges, and extraction is handled by a crescent-shaped ejector head. The hammer and trigger are in-the-white, with a spurred hammer for confident control.
Constructed from blued alloy steel throughout the frame, cylinder, and receiver, this NV-34 configuration (Ruger Mfg Part No. 05107) was made in the United States in 2012.
