Taurus Model 455 Tracker .45 ACP Stainless 2-inch DA/SA Revolver, 5-Shot
This Taurus Model 455 Tracker is a compact, stainless, 5-shot .45 ACP revolver from the early 2000s with a 2-inch heavy barrel and full-length underlug featuring an oval relief cut. It uses 5-shot full-moon clips for positive extraction and has fixed sights for a clean, durable setup. The yoke is stamped with the model code 455, and the frame carries Taurus International Miami, FL import marks alongside Made in Brazil markings.
Built on a matte stainless steel frame and cylinder, the 455 Tracker pairs durability with a compact footprint. Factory literature lists an overall length of approximately 6.75 inches for the 2-inch variant, making this a short-barreled .45 ACP revolver with notable power in a carryable size.
The short, heavy-profile barrel features a full underlug with an oval relief cut along the ejector rod channel. Sighting is straightforward and rugged, with a serrated ramp front and a fixed square-notch rear milled into the topstrap.
Controls are traditional DA/SA with a smooth-face trigger and an exposed, checkered-spur hammer. The round-butt frame is fitted with black ribbed rubber Ribber grips bearing Taurus medallions for a secure, hand-filling hold. The revolver is designed to run with 5-shot full-moon clips; it can be fired without clips, but the empties will not eject with the rod unless clips are used.
