The P30S V3 configuration pairs a traditional DA/SA trigger with ambidextrous thumb safeties and a rear-mounted decocking button. It retains an exposed spur hammer and includes ambidextrous slide release levers and HK's paddle-style ambidextrous magazine release for fully bilateral controls.
Its 3.86 in cold hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling and a 1:9.84 twist. The slide wears HK's black Hostile Environment nitrocarburized finish. Capacity is 17+1 with the included magazines, and the pistol accepts HK double-stack magazines in 10-, 15-, 17-, and 20-round configurations.
Ergonomics are highly tunable: the textured polymer grip uses interchangeable side panels and backstraps to achieve 27 possible fit combinations. Sight picture is a non-radioactive 3-dot setup with a front post and open-notch rear for a clean, familiar view.
The frame integrates a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail with four slots. German commercial proof marks (DE, CIP N) and a CB date code are present, alongside the HKI Columbus, GA import mark. The serial number is repeated on the slide, barrel, and frame for consistent identification.
