The M&P45 Shield M2.0 is a striker-fired .45 ACP with a stainless-steel slide and barrel treated with Smith & Wesson's Armornite finish. The polymer frame in black features the M&P texture for secure purchase, and the pistol retains the slim, single-stack form factor of the Shield line.
Controls and sighting features are straightforward and practical: a reversible magazine release, a tactile and audible trigger reset, and a loaded-chamber viewport. The slide includes rear serrations and front scallops for confident manipulation, plus an external extractor. Sights are dovetailed 3-dot with a white-dot front and two-dot rear.
Dimensions are compact and easy to manage, with a 3.3-inch barrel, 6.45-inch overall length, and a 4.88-inch height with the flush magazine. The frame measures 0.99 inch wide (1.05 inches at the widest point), and the unloaded weight is 20.5 ounces.
This no-thumb-safety configuration offers a clean-sided profile while maintaining the M2.0 series updates. Capacity is up to 7+1 with the included magazines, giving the option of a flush-fit 6-round or an extended 7-round steel magazine, both factory Smith & Wesson.
