The XD-S Mod.2 platform delivers a compact, micro-size footprint with single-stack magazines for a slim profile. Listed dimensions are approximately 6.3 in long, 4.3 in high, and 1.06 in wide at the controls (0.91 in across the slide), with an unloaded weight around 21.5 oz. Capacity is listed at 9+1 with the included magazine set.
Its hammer-forged 3.3 in steel barrel features a 1:10 RH twist and Melonite/nitrided treatment. The forged steel slide wears a matte black Melonite finish with rear cocking serrations, a beveled muzzle, and a top-slide loaded-chamber indicator. This example is the standard non-OSP configuration without an optics cut.
Sighting is fast and clear thanks to a red fiber-optic front paired with a steel two-dot tactical rack rear. Controls include an ambidextrous magazine release and a pivoting trigger. The Mod.2 textured grip incorporates a palm swell and relief cuts, and the dust cover includes a single-slot accessory rail.
Safety features include a grip safety, trigger safety, striker block, and a loaded chamber indicator. Markings reflect its origin and import: "U.S. PRODUCT MADE IN CROATIA, S. GENESEO, IL, SPRINGFIELD ARMORY U.S.A." The pistol is produced by HS Produkt in Croatia and imported by Springfield Armory.
