The SAM7SF uses a milled steel receiver with a Bulgarian-style lightening cut, machined from a hot-die hammer-forged blank. It bears the Bulgarian Circle 10 proof and the Arsenal Las Vegas, U.S.A. import mark, reflecting its Bulgarian manufacture and U.S. import by Arsenal Inc.
The 16.33 in barrel is cold hammer-forged and chrome-lined with 4-groove rifling and approximately 1:9.45 in right-hand twist. The action is the classic AK system: semi-automatic, gas-operated, long-stroke piston with a rotating bolt. Capacity is up to 30+1 with standard 7.62x39 AK magazines.
Furniture is Bulgarian rib-pattern polymer for both the handguards and the pistol grip, with the lower handguard marked US. Controls include an ambidextrous safety. The steel stock is a right-side folding tubular design with a textured buttpad and a 14.25 in length of pull, providing compact storage and transport when folded.
Factory iron sights include a protected front post and an AK tangent rear. A standard AK left-side optic rail is present, and the rifle comes with an installed Arsenal SM-13 side scope mount (CAGE 4UBG6), engineered for return-to-zero and to allow normal field-stripping. The front-sight-block features a 24×1.5 mm RH muzzle interface with a plunger and a bayonet/accessory lug. No cleaning rod is installed on the rifle.
