The Performance Center configuration brings a ported 3.7 in stainless-steel barrel and slide lightening cuts that distinguish it from standard models. The stainless slide wears Smith & Wesson’s Armornite finish, while the barrel is left in natural stainless, pairing durable materials with a proven protective coating.
Controls and ergonomics are set up for confident operation: EZ rear cocking wings/tabs at the slide, a tactile loaded-chamber indicator, ambidextrous manual thumb safety, and a grip safety. The M2.0-style molded texture on the polymer frame offers a consistent hold.
Sight picture is provided by steel green fiber-optic 3-dot sights, with both the front and rear using green fiber-optic elements. The aluminum, curved, skeletonized trigger features lightening holes. A left-side push-button magazine release manages magazine changes.
This Shield EZ uses a single-action, internal-hammer, locked-breech system. Capacity is 10+1, and the package includes a mix of 10-round and 8-round factory magazines with load-assist tabs and a combination of flush and grip-extension base plates. The dustcover carries a single-slot accessory rail, and the barrel protrudes slightly past the slide nose. The slide is marked "CAUTION: Capable of Firing with Magazine Removed."
