The MR308 is the civilian counterpart to the HK417 and reflects the design lineage of the G28 and M110A1 programs. This example is German-made with CIP nitro proof and HK proof marks. The barrel and the upper receiver bear proof marks; the lower receiver does not. The barrel serial number does not match the receiver serial number. It carries a full-length T-marked Picatinny top rail and folding backup iron sights.
Performance-centered barrel construction includes a 16.5-inch cold hammer-forged, hard chrome-lined bore with a free-floating setup. A three-prong flash hider is fitted at the muzzle. The action is semi-automatic with a short-stroke gas piston and rotating bolt.
Thoughtful upgrades include a Geissele M110A1-pattern M-LOK free-float aluminum handguard and an HK DMR-type adjustable buttstock. The stock provides an adjustable cheekpiece and adjustable length of pull, finished in tan to match the HK-pattern pistol grip with molded texturing.
The rifle is configured on HK417/MR308 proprietary HK 7.62 piston pattern (not AR-10/SR-25 compatible) and chambered in .308 Win, with a 20+1 capacity. It includes both 20-round and 10-round factory HK translucent polymer 7.62×51 magazines as shown, supporting a range of use cases from range work to states with capacity limits.
