Carl Gustaf m/96 Swedish Mauser Receiver (1913) — Forged Steel, In the White, D&T Receiver Ring
This is a 1913 Carl Gustaf m/96 Swedish Mauser receiver from Eskilstuna, Sweden, displaying the crowned crest and factory legend on the ring, though these markings are interrupted by the two vertically spaced drilled-and-tapped holes through the receiver ring. It is a forged-steel, small-ring receiver finished in the white, sporterized with the receiver ring drilled and tapped in two vertically spaced holes. A Swedish crown proof is present on the left front receiver lug.
Pre–WWI manufacture, original m/96 architecture, and markings present (crest, legend, and 1913 date interrupted by the drilled-and-tapped holes) make this receiver a solid foundation for a period-correct Swedish Mauser build. The long oval ejection port without a thumb cut and the flat-bottomed, integral-lug design reflect the m/96 pattern; the original integral charger-clip guide on the rear bridge has been removed (rear bridge milled/ground flat with a small screw-mounted block added), so it will not accept charger clips in as-issued form. Serial number placement is on the left receiver wall with a preceding inspector's mark.
Condition
Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

What's Included
- Carl Gustaf m/96 forged-steel receiver (1913), in the white, with receiver ring drilled and tapped (two vertically spaced holes)
Manufactured by Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori in 1913, this receiver retains the Swedish crowned crest and factory legend/date on the ring, though these markings are interrupted by the two vertically spaced holes drilled and tapped through the receiver ring. The left front receiver lug bears a Swedish crown proof, and the serial number is located on the left receiver wall with an inspector’s mark.
The m/96 architecture is evident: a long oval ejection port with no thumb cut, controlled-round-feed, and cock-on-closing operation. The receiver is the flat-bottomed small-ring type with an integral recoil lug; the rear bridge has been milled/ground flat and the original integral charger-clip guide removed, with a small screw-mounted block present, so it will not accept charger clips as-issued.
The receiver is finished in the white and is constructed of forged steel. It has been sporterized/customized with two vertically spaced holes drilled and tapped in the receiver ring.
Originating from Sweden in the pre–WWI era, this receiver represents the Mauser 1896 pattern as produced at Eskilstuna, providing correct geometry and markings for an m/96-configured project.
