Stoeger-imported per the box label, this example is in excellent condition and carries correct Italian proof marks and the proper barrel marking identifying it as black powder only.

This 1862 Police is a faithful cap-and-ball percussion reproduction with an open-top Colt-pattern design. It is compact, single-action, and purpose-built for .36 caliber black powder use, as correctly marked on the barrel.
The 6.5 in round blued barrel uses a wedge-retained lug and a creeping loading lever. Inside, a 7-groove, left-hand twist provides well-defined rifling that is clean and sharp.
The revolver pairs a color case-hardened steel frame with a fluted 5-shot blued steel cylinder. It wears a blued barrel, brass trigger guard and backstrap, and a one-piece walnut grip with a gloss finish.
Sighting is straightforward with a fixed brass front sight and a hammer-notch rear. Markings include the barrel legend "CAL. 36 BLACK POWDER ONLY – A. UBERTI ITALY," Italian proof marks, and a circled "24" proof. Factory identifiers include model code 0070 and manufacturer part number 340700, with Stoeger noted as the importer per the box label.
