The M&P9 M2.0 optics-ready slide features an integral optics cut with a cover plate, along with front and rear serrations for positive manipulation. Dovetailed iron sights are installed, with a white-dot front and a plain, drift-adjustable rear.
Its 4.25 in stainless steel barrel wears S&W's Armornite finish and uses 1:10 right-hand, 5-groove rifling. The slide is also Armornite-treated in black, matching the black polymer frame.
The M2.0 grip frame carries aggressive texturing and ships with four interchangeable palmswell backstraps (S, M, ML, L) to fine-tune fit. Controls include a hinged trigger with a tactile and audible reset, a trigger safety, ambidextrous slide stop levers, and a left-side magazine release. This submodel deletes the manual thumb safety.
Capacity is 17+1 rounds, and three factory steel double-stack magazines are included. A 3-slot Picatinny accessory rail is molded into the dust cover. The slide is marked Maryville, TN, and the pistol bears the S&W warning marking "CAUTION – CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED."
