The Model 1860 Army Second Generation (F-Series) faithfully mirrors the classic cap-and-ball design with an open-top frame and creeping-style loading lever. Its 8-inch round barrel is secured by a wedge and retaining screw, maintaining the traditional assembly of the original percussion-era revolvers.

The rebated six-shot steel cylinder is roll-engraved with the W.L. Ormsby naval battle scene and legends "Engraved by W.L. Ormsby New York" and "ENGAGED 16 MAY 1843." Markings include "COLTS PATENT" over "U.S." on the frame, "44 CAL" on the trigger guard, and the barrel address "ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA," providing the correct period details enthusiasts expect.

Finish and materials are executed to a high standard: a high-polish blued barrel and cylinder, with a color case-hardened frame and loading lever. The revolver is fitted with a brass trigger guard, bright steel backstrap, and a one-piece walnut grip for an authentic look and feel.

Fixed sights include a blade front and hammer-notch rear, as per the original pattern. This example is noted for matching serial numbers across major components and is identified as Model F1200 within Colt’s Authentic Blackpowder Series, produced in the United States from 1978 to 1982.
