This Smith & Wesson M&P FPC is a 9mm pistol-caliber carbine built around a straight blowback action with a 16.25 in 4140 steel barrel threaded 1/2x28. It folds at the front of the receiver for compact storage, accepts double-stack M&P 9mm pistol magazines, and features a flat-faced trigger, M-LOK handguard with a full-length top Picatinny rail on the handguard (no receiver rail), and integrated spare-magazine storage in the stock.

The FPC's folding mechanism is positioned ahead of the receiver, reducing overall length to approximately 16 3/8 in when folded and measuring about 30 3/8 in when unfolded. Unloaded weight is about 5.03 lb, and ejection is to the right side.
The 16.25 in barrel is 4140 steel and threaded 1/2x28, with the muzzle ready for common 9mm-compatible devices. Twist rate is 1:10, and the barrel is marked "9MM LUGER"; the bolt face is marked "9MM".
Ergonomics include a flat-faced trigger and a 14.75 in length of pull. The polymer stock integrates spare-magazine storage, and the carbine uses double-stack M&P 9mm pistol magazines. With the 21-round magazine inserted, capacity is 21+1.
The polymer receiver housing is black. An aluminum M-LOK handguard with a full-length (12 o'clock) Picatinny rail provides mounting space; there is no rail over the receiver. No sights are included. Receiver markings read "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA USA".
