Manufactured by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) in Berlin for Argentina, this 1909-pattern Mauser retains its national crest on the receiver ring and the factory markings, including "MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1909" and "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN BERLIN." It uses the classic Mauser large-ring, controlled-round-feed action with a robust external claw extractor and a wing (flag) safety.
The rifle has been sporterized and rebarreled to .30-06 Springfield with a 24-inch barrel. The barrel is drilled and tapped with two plugged holes, and the metalwork wears a blued finish, while the bolt body and handle are bright-polished.
The sporter walnut stock incorporates a Monte Carlo comb and cheekpiece for a consistent cheek weld, along with cut checkering on the forend and pistol grip. A Fajen buttplate with a white-line spacer and sling swivel studs are installed. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
Sighting is via a Williams adjustable rear sight paired with a ramped, dovetailed front sight. Feeding is from a fixed internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate/trigger guard assembly, and capacity is 5 rounds. Numbers are not fully matched.
