The 590 Shockwave platform brings Mossberg’s proven pump-action design into a compact package. It uses the 590-pattern action with twin action bars and dual extractors, a tang-mounted safety, and a bird’s-head (Raptor-style) textured polymer grip. The 12-gauge chamber accepts 2 3/4 and 3-inch shells, feeding from a 5+1 capacity tube.
Its 14.375-inch heavy-walled, cylinder-bore steel barrel is paired with a brass bead front sight for straightforward target indexing. The receiver is anodized aluminum and the barrel/magazine tube are matte blued, yielding a matte black overall appearance. Factory reference dimensions list an approximate overall length of 26.37 inches and weight around 5.75 lb.
This example is equipped with a Magpul MOE M-LOK forend and an angled foregrip for secure, repeatable hand placement. A ventilated aluminum heat-shield/handguard adds a full-length top Picatinny rail and short rail sections at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock near the muzzle, with an integrated front standoff/spike. A receiver-mounted hook-and-loop panel holds an elastic shell card for on-board ammunition management.
Rails are in place for mounting compatible accessories as desired, and the receiver’s tang safety remains easy to access from either hand. A nylon shotgun scabbard is provided for transport; please note the shotgun cannot be stored in the scabbard with a vertical grip installed.
