The micro-size Shield Plus pairs a 3.1 in stainless steel barrel with an Armornite-treated stainless slide and a black polymer frame. Left-side controls include the takedown lever, slide stop, and magazine release. Approximate dimensions are 6.1 in OAL, 4.6 in height, and 1.1 in width (0.94 in less controls), with an unloaded weight around 19.4 oz.
The optics-ready slide features a top cut with a cover plate secured by two screws and wave-pattern front and rear serrations for positive grip. Dovetailed tritium night sights include an orange-ring tritium front dot and a black tritium rear, with sight bodies marked "TG-H3."
Its striker-fired action uses a flat-face trigger with an integrated trigger safety and a tactile, audible reset. Safety features include a manual thumb safety and a trigger safety. The pistol is capable of firing with the magazine removed (no magazine disconnect).
Capacity is 13+1 with the included 13-round magazine, and a 10-round magazine is also provided. Both magazines are steel and configured for the M&P9 Shield Plus.
