The 18-inch barrel is made from 4140 carbon steel and is threaded at the muzzle, capped with an open-prong flash hider featuring a scalloped/crenellated front. Its 5R rifling and 1:10 twist are well-suited to .308 Win loads, and the bore presents clean, precise rifling.
The upper and lower receivers are 7075-T6 aluminum with a hard-coat black anodized finish. A flat-top, T-marked Picatinny receiver rail with S&W branding provides a straight mounting surface, while the railed gas block includes a Picatinny top section and a sling swivel stud. An ejection-port cover and case deflector are present.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the bolt catch, magazine release, and safety selector. Furniture consists of a 6-position collapsible stock and an A2-type pistol grip. The two-piece, ribbed polymer handguard is retained by a delta ring for straightforward serviceability.
This M&P-10 uses SR-25/DPMS-pattern magazines and includes a 25-round polymer example with a window. A folding rear aperture sight is installed, and the rifle’s matte black finish presents a clean, uniform appearance. Country of origin is the United States.
