The AutoMag II uses a gas-assisted blowback system with chamber gas-relief ports designed for .22 WMR. This setup, paired with its single-action operation and external spur hammer, provides a distinctive mechanical layout uncommon among rimfire pistols.
Construction is all stainless steel, with a matte bead-blast frame and a slide finished with brushed flats and matte bead-blast surfaces. The long, slab-sided slide features an open-top window, and the 6-inch stainless barrel provides ample sight radius.
Sighting equipment includes a fully adjustable rear sight and a ramped front sight with a red/orange insert. Controls are straightforward, with a left-side manual thumb safety that shows a red fire indicator when disengaged.
