The FN 509 Tactical is a full-size, striker-fired 9mm built with a Flat Dark Earth polymer frame and FDE slide. It is configured with fully ambidextrous slide stop levers and bilateral magazine releases, a trigger safety, and no external manual thumb safety. A Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover supports lights or other compatible accessories.
Its 4.5" cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel is threaded 1/2x28. A tan thread-on compensator with two top ports is installed. This setup complements the pistol's threaded barrel configuration and provides a ready-to-use muzzle device.
The slide features front and rear cocking serrations and an optic cut. A Vortex Venom 3 MOA red dot is mounted using FN's Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System plate. Tall black suppressor-height iron sights are installed.
