The 4.0C Compact pairs a 4 in hammer-forged steel barrel with a black Melonite/nitride finish and a billet-machined steel slide treated to match. The slide features forward and rear cocking serrations and a removable cover plate over the direct-mount optics interface, while dovetailed iron sights include a front post and a rear square-notch with a tactical-rack ledge.
Its modular Central Operating Group is a removable, serialized stainless-steel chassis housed in a black polymer frame, with a stainless-steel receiver for durability. The short-recoil, locked-breech, striker-fired system is complemented by a flat-faced trigger with a central safety blade and a distinctive gold-colored trigger shoe.
Controls are practical and streamlined: bilateral slide-stop levers, a left-side push-button magazine release, and a trigger safety. A 4-slot Picatinny dustcover rail provides space for compatible accessories, and the compact dimensions are approximately 7.25 in long, 5.125 in high, with a grip width about 1.2 in and an unloaded weight around 24 oz.
Chambered in 9mm Luger with a 1:10 RH twist, the pistol comes with a 15+1 capacity using the flush-fit magazine. Factory import and proof marks read "HS PRODUKT MADE IN CROATIA, GENESEO, IL," reflecting manufacture by HS Produkt for Springfield Armory.
