The IJ-70-17A is the .380 ACP single-stack export variant of the Makarov, offering nominal 8+1 capacity in a compact, all-steel package. This example carries K.B.I., HBG. PA importer markings and Izhevsk factory proofs, aligning it with 1990s-era Russian commercial production.
Operation is DA/SA with a straight-blowback system, paired with an exposed spur hammer and a slide-mounted safety/decocker. The fixed barrel design and steel construction reflect the robust Makarov pattern.
Sights include a fixed integral front blade and a factory adjustable rear unit that was specific to export-market models. The slide features vertical serrations and a longitudinal anti-glare rib.
The pistol wears its original reddish-brown checkered single-piece wraparound phenolic grip with star medallions and includes an integral lanyard ring at the grip frame. The blued finish covers both slide and frame for a uniform appearance.
Dimensions are compact with an approximate overall length of 6.5 in and a 3.68 in barrel. The included single-stack steel magazine supports the .380 ACP chambering and features a right-side witness slot.
