This Mauser Parabellum American Eagle stands out as a 1972 West German production pistol with factory American Eagle crest engraving and high-polish blued finish. It is a P.08/Luger-pattern gun with matching serial numbers on the receiver, frame, and sideplate, and it was made in Germany and imported by Interarms of Alexandria, Virginia. What’s Included
- Mauser Parabellum American Eagle 9mm pistol
- One 8-round Luger P.08/Parabellum-pattern steel magazine (shown)
Produced by Mauser-Werke A.G. Oberndorf a.N in West Germany in 1972, this pistol is correctly marked "Made in Germany" and bears the INTERARMS ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA import mark. It represents Mauser’s postwar continuation of the Luger lineage for the commercial market, with period-appropriate fit, finish, and markings.
The chamber is factory engraved with the American Eagle crest (Great Seal of the United States), and the toggle carries the "Original Mauser" banner. The receiver is marked "MAUSER PARABELLUM." The high-polish blued finish contrasts with straw-colored small parts, and the pistol wears checkered walnut grips for a traditional Luger appearance.
Mechanically, it follows the classic P.08 pattern with an articulated toggle-breech and short-recoil, single-action operation. Controls include a manual thumb safety and a grip safety. The 6 inch steel barrel is paired with fixed iron sights: a fixed blade front on a raised base and a fixed V-notch rear on the toggle. Knurled toggle knobs aid in positive manipulation.
This full-size 9mm Luger has an 8+1 capacity and includes one 8-round P.08-pattern steel magazine. The receiver, frame, and sideplate carry matching serial numbers, and features such as the high-polish blue, straw small parts, and correct import and origin markings align with the desirable attributes of Mauser’s 1970s Parabellum production imported by Interarms.
