Colt Python .357 Mag 6-inch Bright Nickel DA/SA Revolver (1979) with Original Box
This 1979 Colt Python is an original-production, full-size .357 Magnum revolver with a 6-inch steel barrel and bright nickel finish. It features the ventilated top rib with rectangular vents, a full-length underlug, and factory adjustable sights. The revolver retains its checkered walnut target stocks with gold Colt medallions, and it comes with the original Colt woodgrain box and instruction manual. The box’s information tab was removed during its life, but the clipped tab is included.

Specific Condition Notes: This revolver is in great shape overall, with some scratches and blemishes. There is blemishing on the frame where the grips and frame meet, and one small spot of pitting is present on the cylinder. The bore is clean and shiny.

Built in 1979 in the United States, this Python is an original-production example (pre-2020 reissue) chambered in .357 Magnum with a six-round cylinder. The revolver is finished in bright nickel plating over its steel frame and cylinder, presenting the classic Python profile in a factory-applied reflective finish.
The 6-inch barrel is outfitted with a ventilated top rib featuring rectangular vents, paired with a matte, anti-glare topstrap to reduce glare. A full-length underlug encloses the ejector rod. The front sight is a pinned, serrated ramp, and the rear is fully adjustable, providing a precise sight picture.
Controls include a trigger face designed for consistent finger purchase and a wide, checkered hammer spur for positive cocking. The ejector-rod tip is knurled. The revolver wears factory checkered walnut target stocks with gold Colt medallions, and the left side of the frame displays the Rampant Colt logo.
Factory markings include barrel rollmarks reading "PYTHON .357" over ".357 MAGNUM CTG." along with the Colt Hartford address. The serial number is present on the crane/yoke. This Python also comes with its original Colt woodgrain box; the information tab has been removed, and the clipped tab is provided with the gun.
