The H9’s design continues the low-bore-axis concept associated with the original H9 architecture while updating it with Daniel Defense manufacturing. The result is a compact 9mm with a straight-pull, flat-faced metal trigger and a striker-fired, locked-breech tilting barrel system.
Materials and build are a highlight: the slide is 4340 steel with a DLC black finish, the barrel is cold-hammer-forged stainless, and the frame is 7075 aluminum anodized black. The pistol weighs 30 oz and carries a capacity of 15+1 in a compact footprint.
Sighting equipment is straightforward and fast: a green fiber-optic front sight pairs with a blacked-out U-notch rear. Front and rear slide serrations aid manipulation, and removable G10 grip panels combine with serrated frontstrap and backstrap and an extended beavertail or tang for solid purchase.
Controls are modern and adaptable, including an ambidextrous slide stop and a reversible magazine catch, plus a trigger safety blade. The optics-ready slide includes a removable cover plate, and the frame integrates a STANAG 4694 or Picatinny accessory rail with three visible slots for mounting compatible accessories.
