Springfield Armory 1911 Garrison .45 ACP, 5" Match-Grade, Hot-Salt Blued, Full-Size (PX9420) — Excellent
This Springfield Armory 1911 Garrison pairs forged-steel construction with a classic hot-salt blued finish featuring polished flats and matte rounds. It is a full-size Government-pattern .45 ACP with a forged stainless 5" match-grade barrel and a traditional bushing/plug system. Made in the USA, this current-production PX9420 example is in excellent condition with a clean, mirror-bright bore and comes with its factory packaging, soft case, cable lock, and one 7-round magazine.
The forged carbon-steel slide and frame wear a deep blued finish with polished flats and matte rounds, capturing the traditional 1911 look. The forged stainless 5" match-grade barrel uses a 1:16" twist and works with a standard Government-length bushing and GI-style recoil spring plug. A standard, non-railed dust cover maintains the classic profile.
Controls are single-action only with a single-side thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with a memory bump. The skeletonized commander-style hammer and three-hole, skeletonized trigger provide a clean, familiar 1911 interface. The slide has rear serrations with no front serrations for a traditional configuration.
Low-profile fixed 3-dot sights include a front blade with a white dot and a fixed, low-profile rear. Checkered double-diamond wood grips with Springfield Armory medallions complete the package. Capacity is 7+1 with the included stainless 7-round magazine.
Details include the Springfield Armory crossed-cannon crest on the slide and a barrel hood marked "S.A. .45AUTO." The factory box label matches the pistol’s serial and identifies the model as "PX9420 … 45 5" GARRISON BLUED." The Garrison series was introduced in 2021 and remains current production.
