The JAKL uses a bufferless, captured recoil spring assembly paired with a long-stroke gas piston and an externally adjustable gas regulator. This setup is complemented by a forward-mounted, non-reciprocating charging handle and an ejection port with an integral deflector and no dust cover.
Its monolithic aluminum upper/handguard provides a full-length Picatinny rail along the top with M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. The receiver set and handguard wear an FDE finish, and the platform accepts standard STANAG-pattern AR magazines.
The 14.5-inch 5.56 NATO barrel is threaded 1/2x28 and fitted with a multi-prong flash hider. Controls include a left-side safety selector and a right-side magazine release, and the lower is equipped with a Magpul MOE pistol grip.
Markings include Palmetto State Armory, West Columbia, S.C., and JAKL 5.56 NATO on the magwell. This example maintains excellent overall and bore condition, with minimal evidence of prior handling.
