The compact configuration pairs a 3.25-inch barrel with a linkless locked-breech design and a separate barrel bushing and recoil spring plug. Fixed sights include a front ramp and a rear notch, while the slide carries vertical rear serrations for purchase. The anodized aluminum-alloy frame houses a Commander (rowel-style) hammer and checkered black synthetic grips with gold Colt medallions. Factory reference weight is approximately 21.75 oz, and capacity is 7+1 with single-stack magazines.
This Series 80 variant is single-action and includes a frame-mounted manual thumb safety, a grip safety, and a Series 80 firing-pin block. It was manufactured in 1984 in the United States, aligning with Colt’s 1980s-era compact .380 lineup.
Operational status note: The firearm is currently inoperable due to a broken sear and a missing ball detent in the safety selector. The magazines will not seat due to the broken sear. It will require replacement parts to return to functional status. Sold as-is.
