What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman no-dash .357 Magnum revolver with 4-inch barrel
The Highway Patrolman series was designed as a duty-focused counterpart to S&W’s deluxe .357 N-frame, and this example shows the correct Model 28 attributes: a matte-blued finish, a non-checkered matte topstrap and barrel rib, and a heavy-profile 4-inch barrel with a short forward lug for the ejector-rod lock and no full underlug.
It is a no-dash revolver with the yoke marked "MOD.-28," aligning with the early 1960–1961 production period. The S-prefix serial pattern noted on the butt and yoke is consistent with these early Model 28s, adding context appreciated by collectors tracking production eras.
The revolver is built on S&W’s N-frame in a square-butt configuration and uses a six-shot fluted cylinder. The action is double-action/single-action with a swing-out cylinder, pairing service reliability with the controllability expected from a full-size .357 Magnum.
Sights are duty-tuned and adjustable: a plain, serrated ramp front paired with an adjustable S&W micrometer rear, plain black square-notch leaf. Small parts retain their classic S&W finishes, including a color case-hardened, checkered-spur hammer and a color case-hardened, serrated-face trigger. The revolver wears S&W checkered walnut "Magna" service stocks with an inset S&W medallion in the non-diamond Magna pattern.
