The Model 7600 platform uses a pump/slide action with a rotating multi-lug bolt and dual action bars for positive lock-up. While the forend does not bear on the barrel, the clamp-on barrel band with the front sling-swivel stud contacts the barrel, so it is not free-floated. The barrel is carbon steel with a polished blue finish, while the receiver is aluminum alloy with an anodized-type black finish, complemented by a gloss walnut stock.
The stock features pressed fleur-de-lis checkering, white-line spacers, sling-swivel studs, a black Remington-logo buttplate, and a black grip cap. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches. Open sights include a hooded ramp front and an adjustable rear leaf, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts.
Chambered in .270 Winchester, the factory capacity is 4+1 using a detachable steel box magazine. The magazine body is marked for multiple long-action chamberings, including ".270 WIN." The reported barrel length is 23 inches, overall length is approximately 42 5/8 inches, and unloaded weight is approximately 7.5 pounds.
A Bushnell Custom 3-9x riflescope is installed on base and rings, providing a clear, precise aiming solution to complement the rifle’s open sights. This setup offers immediate versatility for field or range use.
