The MK-25 specification emphasizes corrosion resistance, with the commercial model mirroring features of the Navy contract pistols. This example includes the hallmark anchor emblem on the slide and a UID/data plate replicating DoD-style markings.
Construction is purpose-built: a stainless-steel slide with a matte black Nitron finish over a hard-coat anodized aluminum-alloy frame. Production is from Sig Sauer’s Newington, New Hampshire facility in the USA.
Controls and operating system are classic P226: a locked-breech, tilting-barrel design with DA/SA operation, a decocking lever, and no manual safety. It uses an external spur hammer and fixed 3-dot sights (single-dot front, two-dot rear).
An integral three-slot MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail is machined into the frame. The 4.4 in barrel and 15+1 capacity make it a capable full-size sidearm. The included steel magazines are Made in Italy and are double-column P226 pattern.
This pistol is customized with an installed flat-faced trigger and black textured synthetic grip panels featuring a hex/honeycomb pattern, adding a distinct geometry and traction profile to the standard MK-25 configuration.
